Project Description

7 days roundtrip

This trip takes you to the northernmost point of Europe and through the unique Scandinavian landscape, packed with cultural heritage. Discover the mountainous archipelago at Lofoten, the North Cape and Lapland, home of the Sami people.

Day 1: Arrival in Rovaniemi

On the first day you will arrive at Rovaniemi in northern Finland by plane (not incl.). Airport shuttle service to the hotel is arranged by us.

Day 2: Rovaniemi/Kiruna/Narvik (520 km)

We will be travelling westwards, crossing the Finnish/Swedish boarder, through northern Sweden to Kiruna – the northernmost city in Sweden. The industrial fundament of this city is its vast iron ore mining. Due to the rapidly depleting resources, leaving only a reserve underneath the city center, the entire city has to be resettled within the next decade. From Kiruna we progress towards the Norwegian boarder and further on to Narvik.

Day 3: Narvik / Svolvær (240 km)

We move on to Bjervik and the green Archipelago at Vesterålen towards Lofoten until we reach the town of Svolvær. Here you will have the opportunity to take a trip on the spectacular Trollfjord. From Svolvær you head out by boat into the Raftsund and further on into the impressive Trollfjord with its breathtaking views, surrounded by steep and rugged mountains. A delicious fish soup will be served on board.

Day 4: Svolvær / Tromsø (430 km)

Lofoten is a unique archipelago; the jagged mountains soar up right out of the ocean and picturesque fishing villages are dotted around the shallow valleys. From Lofoten we move on towards Tromsø, one of the northernmost cities in the World.

Day 5: Tromsø/Honningsvåg (575 km)

The last leg of the trip to the northernmost point of Europe takes you across two fjords, through the town of Alta and into Honningsvåg. In the evening we reach the North Cape where the midnight sun and a stunning view of the Arctic Ocean awaits.

Day 6: Honningsvåg/Luosto (595 km)

We move on down south along the famous Reindeer road towards Karasjok on the Norwegian/Finnish boarder. Further on we will pass Inari, the largest lake in Finland and head on into Luosto.

Day 7: Luosto – departure

The airport shuttle takes you to your return flight out of Rovaniemi (not incl.) in due time.
