8 Days roundtrip
One highlight after another awaits you on this trip through one of the most spectacular and fascinating sceneries in the World – with deep fjords, glacier formations, picturesque villages and majestic mountains.
Day 1: Kiel / Oslo
After arrival in Kiel at 2 pm you will board one of the largest cruise ships in the world, taking you to Oslo. Aboard you will experience a rich Scandinavian dinner buffet and comfortable cabins.
Day 2: Oslo / Hamar (125 km)
After the breakfast buffet aboard we enter Oslo for a 3 hour city tour, where you can experience the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the royal palace, the new opera house and the city hall. Afterwards we travel northwards, past Jahren and into Hamar.
Day 3: Hamar/Trollstigen/Ålesund (365 km)
We start out driving along Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, through the Gudbrandsdal and the impressive Romsdal valleys, the latter framed by steep mountains. Along the way we pass the Troll Wall, unique in Europe with its rapid decline of a 1000 m. Further on we move on up the famous Troll’s Path, a serpentine mountain road with 11 hairpin bends. Along the Storfjord we progress into Ålesund, a cozy Atlantic harbor town. A must see in Ålesund is Aksla, the local mountain, with its 418 steps. From its peak you will experience a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean and the nearby Sunnørsalpene mountain range.
Day 4: Ålesund / Geiranger / Sognefjord / Leikanger (340 km)
We travel towards Hellesylt and pass the spectacular Geirangerfjord with its abandoned farms and magnificent waterfalls on the way and further on to Geiranger. After Geiranger we ascent the high mountains at Strynenfjell and further on we descend down to the Nordfjord and through the Fjærlands Tunnel we arrive at the Sognefjord – the longest of its kind in Norway.
Day 5: Leikanger / Flåm railway / Bergen
After a short ferry trip across the Fjord we continue through the Lærdals Tunnel – one of the longest tunnels in the world. In Flåm we take the train on the magnificent route to Myrdal und further on with the Bergen line to Voss and into Bergen. In Bergen a 2 hour city tour awaits us, that will let us experience both old and new parts of Bergen; e.g. the old wharf, the city center and the Hanseatic quarter.
Day 6: Bergen / Hardanger-Fjord / Stavanger (415 km)
The Hardangefjord is famous for its orchards and numerous waterfalls. In 2013 the new Hardanger-bridge was opened, and from here on it is only a short trip to Vøringsfossen, the most visited of the Norwegian waterfalls. Further on down south we will pass the Låtefossen and finally reach the ferry that will take us from Arsvågen to Mortavik and from here on into the former European capital of culture, Stavanger.
Day 7: Stavanger / South Cape / Skørping (400 km)
The last day in Norway takes us along the southern shore to Lindesnes, the southernmost point of Norway. In the harbor city of Kristiansand you will board the high speed ferry to Hirtshals and enjoy a nice buffet dinner aboard. After arrival in Hirtshals it is only a short drive to the hotel in Skørping.
